WEATHER

Approximate winter temperatures (May to August) range between 35°F in the early morning and 70°F in the afternoon. Spring temperatures (March to April and September to October) range between 50°F and 90°F. The raining season temperatures vary from area to area.

CLOTHING

Lalingwe Safaris suggests bringing the following:

  • 1 or 2 pairs of comfortable hunting boots or shoes.

  • Casual or running shoes.

  • A sweater, warm jacket, belt and hat.

  • Casual clothes.

  • 3 sets of hunting clothes: long pants (zip-on), long-sleeved shirts, socks and underwear (daily laundry will be done). It is important to adjust your clothes according to the time of year your hunt takes place).

EQUIPMENT

Lalingwe Safaris suggests bringing the following:

  • Personal Medi-kit with sunblock (SPF30) and mosquito repellent.

  • Pair of sunglasses.

  • Toiletries.

  • Small day pack (knapsack).

  • Flashlight, binoculars, camera with spare memory sticks, batteries and/or charger.

  • Pocket knife.

HEALTH

The Limpopo Province is a malaria-free area. Consult with your medical doctor regarding vaccinations or medication. Take note that if you travel to the east (like Kruger National Park) or up north (to Botswana and Zimbabwe) that you need to take precautions because of malaria in these areas.

TRAVEL

Clients are met at OR Thambo International Airport in Johannesburg and transported to the hunting area by air-conditioned vehicle. This trip to the camp takes about three hours. Air charters are available on request and at additional cost.

CURRENCY

Currency in South Africa is ZAR - Rand. Credit cards are not accepted at Lalingwe Safaris but are welcomed by most shops. On all non-export items, 15% VAT (Value Added Tax) is payable i.e. car hire, flights, accommodation etc.

CUSTOMS,PASSPORTS & VISAS

In South Africa, custom clearance is operative at the port of entry. South Africa requires a passport valid for at least six months beyond departure date and, depending on the country of origin, a visa. Your passport must have at least three blank visa pages (not endorsement pages).

TAXIDERMY& SHIPPING

Field preparation of trophies is done in camp and transported to a taxidermy or shipping agent designated by us. If the client wishes to make use of his/her taxidermy or shipping agent, Lalingwe Safaris will not be held responsible for any loss or damage. You will be put in touch with the taxidermy or shipping agent to discuss their requirements and arrangements for payment.
